One of the best shooters I've played. Ever.
Team fortress 2 was a game I was a bit iffy about whether it was worth it playing, let alone buying. At that time, the only game I knew from Valve was Half-Life, so I was looking at this game being too cartoony, even with it's mature 18+ rating. Upon June 2011, the game was now free to play from Valve's online game distributor Steam. I will tell you this though, the game can be played for over 3000+ hours and still be fun.The game is based off of two teams of 9 mercanaries pitting against themselves in game modes such as Payload, CTF , or capture points. The game also has to be played through the internet, or you'll be stuck in an online practice mode. The graphics and overall design of the game is absolutely stunning thanks to Valve's 2004 engine, Source (First introduced with Half-Life 2 and the Mod, Counter-strike: Source). The personalities of characters are well scripted, and will leave you laughing beyond your imagination with their own sence of humor.Overall, this game is well worth the money. I DO recommend you buy the physical copy, due to playing the game online for free will grant you few features unless you buy an item from the Mann.Co store (from TF2)or by buying a game off steam.10/10

English?
Son asked for this game for Christmas. Pictures Amazon show and their description looks and sounds like a normal American game. The game we recieved is made in Poland and printed in polish. Cant even read the cover or inserts inside. Hoping when he puts it in his computer it starts up in English.

Worth buying, but no instructions
I've had a lot of fun with this. Players are mostly polite on the mic. Not a lot of official servers and hard to figure out what kind of game you're getting into. This game has no instructions whatsoever. There is terminology used in the server descriptions that are impossible to understand without googling the heck out of them. Again, NO instructions. There is a wiki that tells you how to use the characters.[...].I'd rather have a physical guide at my fingertips so I can reference it DURING gameplay instead of having to exit the game to look things up. And I second that it's very difficult finding your way around most maps, so they should have offered a playing guide.Would be great if they did not get rid of the grenades from the first version. The regular bombs detonate after 3 seconds, giving other players LOADS of time to get away when you throw them. The Sticky Bombs are NOT like proximity charges, either, as you have to manually set them off. Who sets a boobytrap that they have to wait around to monitor, leaving you a target for every other enemy??? This is an extremely fast-paced game, so that was a bad choice by Valve. The upgrades are never explained. Basically it asks you if you want to accept this "fill in obscure description" upgrade and you click accept of discard. Found myself getting the same "upgrade" 3 times, accidently replacing weapons I NEEDED with stupid sandwiches (again, no instructions telling you what they're for--they give health). As for the gaming environment, it is a lot of fun interacting with teammates. Psssst! The OTHER team can hear everything you say to your teammates, so forget about strategy planning!

French??
It did not state in the add that the only version they had was French. And showed an English version. My money was returned. As was their game. But after they had shipped my item to someone in Michigan and their item to me. We then had to mail the items to each other. Before I found out it was in French. By the time this was all done. I was not able to get a replacement in time for Christmas.Thankfully found out that the game is a FREE download on STEAM.The game is awesome itself and there are lots of people still playing 10 years after it’s release. Who wants a sandvich?

Decent game, now somwhat impressed
Maybe I'm an old guy looking back at his younger gaming days of playing Quake Arena and Wolfenstein and was expecting more, but not much blew me away about this game. I'll separate my frustrations by catagory.Installation:I have this installed on 2 computers. On the Vista 32bit machine (about 4 years old but used to be very capable), I used the DVD and installed Steam and signed up for it...so far so good even though there were no instructions on just what the hell Steam is and I had to google around. Then it says to type in the game key etc. so far so good. But then it proceeds to take the next 3 hours DOWNLOADING the game while I sit there waiting. Why would it download the entire game if the game came on a DVD? Why not just use the DVD to install the game and THEN update it? I understand the need to update software, but updates are a fraction of the size of the entire program usually.I also installed this on a Windows 7 64 bit machine, but Steam would try to update itself and freeze at 27% and crash. Good job there guys. I decided to download the latest from the website instead and again Steam came crashing down. After searching FAQs and other things, I found that I had to go to the installation directory and run the file by right clicking and running as admin. Funny how none of my other programs require that.Regardless, I got the program going.Playing:It's pretty standard, but there are only a few servers available to play in- many of them having double the recommended users. Another thing i noticed is that despite all the warnings about cheating, there are plenty of aim-bots and other things being used.I guess for the $10 or whatever it costs it's a decent enough game, but I wouldn't exactly call it "epic".*update*After a couple of months, this game is growing on me. There are a lot of stuff going on that older games didn't have thanks to steam. In a way I like finding objects during game play that give my weapons extra power and such but personally I would prefer everybody had the same level of power. This does however encourage you to play more. It's also nice that maps keep growing and it seems like the game doesn't get old. They even add holiday themes....
